The Overlook Fing is now available as a free download on Google Play for Android owners. The application is designed for use in English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 2.8 has been released on 2014-11-16. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Here is the app`s compatibility information: 2.1 and up

I ve been using this app for many years now but only about a handful of times each year as an alternative way to view what s going on with my network I can t honestly say when the ads were introduced but I can say that this app is not that intuitive or special that it deserves my money to rent its use to avoid the annoying ads I too join the ranks of those who have decided to uninstall for such reasons     Stephen Stalnaker
REPLY TO DEV It s not that I m dissatisfied with the progress of the updates and I don t want them for free but I object to paying for things in advance especially if I don t know whether I ll want or need them I question the wisdom of paying for promises before results A one off payment to ditch the ads is fair Charging an ongoing fee to do so is extortion ORIG The paid version is actually a subscription No outright purchase like others offer Too bad Hate ads so uninstalling     John Walker
so now this developer like far too many others has decided to spam users in the notifications area asking if they re happy with with their ISP Who knows what else they will spam with and there appears to be no way to disable it on the app yes I know I can disable the notification in Android but I shouldn t have to This is unacceptable If it continues the rating will drop to 1 star So wait even when not using your app we re going to get ads without paying NOPE Uninstalling             Brian Bergin
Was a great app until last update where it lost all my saved devices and put them as generic and does not recognize my NETWORK THIS NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED IMMEDIATELY PLEASE 6 FING contacted me regarding this issue and their recommendations worked Thanks a lot                     Karen McDonald
It wont save the customized name of the connected device 9 11 2019 UPDATE 9 21 2019 Thanks for the tip So now it needs location service ON for it to display customized device names Thank you                     Alex I.
Just like user rukis m reported this app now loses all previously saved devices when tapping refresh Way to go from 5 stars to only 1 Fix it please and don t release new versions without thoroughly testing with all recently released Android versions     Hieu Do
Recent update has screwed this fantastic app Everytime I refresh my wifi network it creates a separate network in my network list and shows the identified devices as generic Thumbs down     Nishank Gupta
Great app for general network monitoring A point of improvement would be to support other VLAN s and support for cellular with VPN connection A part from those things the app work as expected                 Mitchell Slot
Recent update sucks lost all my saved devices instead it shows all devices as generic and not to mention the annoying ads way to go to screw your app would not recommend     Ammar Sherazi
Older versions used to identify the network but current version stores everything under Unnamed Network And of course doesn t save whatever I edit             Atticus Maximus
Now constantly getting notifications of internet outages I ve already acknowledged the notification stop keep sending them Yet again if a notification has been acknowledged clear it     Craig Fews
Have used this app for several years and alway been stable and accurate Easy to use and solid features Installed on several Android devices without issues                     Phil Pierson
Was a nice app Got a push notification just a few minutes ago opened the app saw ads uninstalled Sorry I don t allow any ads in apps on my device     Marc Zimmermann
Best tool ever I have one question How can i get fing to scan my network when my Android phone is plugged into my phone docking station When i plug my phone into it s docking station it is then connected via the docking station LAN port Fing then give me an error not connected to network Is there a way around this without having to unplug my phone from the docking station to do a scan as it is also connected to a 24 lcd monitor while in the docking station                     Leon Botha
I noticed plenty of times that there are other connected devices that shows inactive on the list                 mj pz
its great I was looking for a new app since the Netgear app no longer allows me to label the devices on my network It only shows IP addresses they said to upgrade to their new app but that one doesn t support my router So this app has been great And FYI I would also pay for an ad free app It s great                 Eric Dobbins
Ads via notifications aren t cool The latest ad that came through at 2AM reminded me that there s few features of use that Fing has that WiFiMan doesn t so I ve permanently made the switch now             Luke Tubnor
Has this app been sold Spyware now Android 10 shows permissions that bother me Why would you need access to my physical activity Are you planning to add a step counter Location access im the background Access to my contacts This was a nice nerdy app to scan your network Now it seems to be rejiggered for mass appeal with weird descriptions claims and it s suffering from permission creep     Sander Raaymakers
Version 8 4 0 latest update all my device that s has been registered and renamed been Unknown after each time I refreshed please fix Dev Before this updated its all perfect             rukis m
Since Android 10 took away Mac addresses access the app isn t nearly as good as it used to be             Karl Carpenter
repeated prompts on the main screen to sign in are irritating no DNS lookup option ads are annoying         Matthew K
Cannot remove ads Ads are ugly on the interface     sam a
This app is very useful for keeping track of devices attached to your network                     Mitchell Carter
Just installed and I can really detect who s in my Wi Fi but I need clarification on pausing blocking a device Does pausing a device connection permanently blocks the device If it permanently blocks a device will the device blocked still be banned access even if I turn off my phone Wi Fi connection on my phone or force close the app It ll be nice if you can reply                 joe junior
Too bad for this app it had a good design Instead of forcing users to create an account to be able to use all apps features better create a Pro version for money so that we could by it without sharing any info to the developer     OneSoulAssassin
Pointless without a Fingbox My Fingbox got an orange ring of death Now the app no longer scans my network because it can t find the Fingbox And now it has ads So I bought a Fingbox that won t work I pay for Domotz Pro and I still have to stare at ads I m done Uninstalling     Robert Dunham
I can not find a better tool to monitor and assist in controlling l my home network It s surprising just how many devices you have that are connected to the Internet Using the hardware FingBox makes it even better                     live home
Very Simple To Use Still Toying With It Only If It Had BlueTooth Detection Feature Since I Keep Having Neighbors In My Apartment Building That Keep Connecting To My LG Soundplate Soundbar Because It Does Not Have A Password Protection Feature                     Jerry Carver
Instant you know how your wifi been used Very useful app                 Parry Tataria
The basic features of local network discovery is very useful to me It helps me debug setups It also lets me discover if a public wifi exposes me to other users                 Ed Averill
Very very helpful and resourceful and recomended believe that it works because life is about strategies and statistics and you either use them to your advantage or someone will take advantage of you a quote from a wise man that wasnt as wise as his eyes because looks can be decieving                     Javier Hernandez
Very good app its pretty handy But is used to be better before for example I used it a lot to scan remote other LAN subnets different from the one I was connected WIFI             Enver Fernandez
Almost perfect but has had quite many bugs                 Jani Tikkanen
This is a great app to be able to shut down a device that is hogging bandwidth when not in use AND to be able to see if people are using your wifi and aren t supposed to you can block them                     Greg Hamm
Fing is a handy dependable toobox It presents complex information in a clear and understandable form It s been around for quite a while It s proven itself                     S. Grose
Incredibly Useful All your IPs at a glance                     fxstnt 2003
Was better before they added the ads They say they will be releasing an ad free version but I have my doubts     Colin Howitt
Very light on memory Do its job quickly What else you need One who are blaming this app for not working use refresh button then only it will work                 Cool Easy Best 1ud83dude00
When my WiFi bandwidth was dropping through the floor I couldnt for the life if me figure out why Then I found this app and discovered my WiFi was being used without my knowledge Password changed problem solved                 Perfect
All due to lacking Ethernet support The Android BoxSticks for TV have quite a big Community              Unfortunately 4 stars only
Awesome app but why dont have an option for WiFi users block I wanted to block those people who is using my wifi So plz make a option to block those people
This is a very handy app to see just what is sharing your broadband Very flexible you can name all devices and describe their function while the app provides all the tech data Everyone should have this as part of their toolkit Very very handy                 Fantastic And Free
Great app but I wish I could restrict or disconnect devices temporarily Why not have the possibility to ban unknown devices as well              More functions
Good features nice clean UI but the somewhat unintuitive way of scanning or learning about new subnets and especially the omnipresent annoyance with the paid version put this down for me I know what the paid version provides and will upgrade when I determine that I need that functionality No good bothering me with that every time I misclick a fraction of an inch away on the touch display
I use it on my home network to keep track of devices not signed static IPs and to see if anything looks out of the ordinary                 Works Great
For some reason I can scan my network multiple times discovering and adding different devices over time Ive customised the names and icons etc for this network Today same network nothing has changed and it starts a new list as if its a new network Now all my customizations are stuck in a network that it wont recognize any more Why Now I have to start over with all my customizations and discovered devices Not the first time this has happened and probably not the last 12915 still happens        Love the app but has a serious problem
Does network discovery the default set of actions performed on running the app use passive or active scanning It would be nice to know because some placesorganizations do not take kindly to what equates to active reconnaissance being performed on their WiFi It would be very nice to see this sort of info passiveactive etc not warnings like I gave earlier visible inapp                 Questions
Great app that allows you to see all the devices that are on your network and see some key stats for each of them Really useful for figuring out ip addresses too Highly recommend                 Very useful
This app is awesome to check whos connected to your router But theres one thing that is not working When you customize a MAC address and add it a custom icon and name Fing only saves it for that specific router so when you see that same device connected to another router the icon and name are again default Itd be awesome that when you add a custom icon and name to a specific device MAC Fing save that information and show it whenever you view that device again in any wireless connection point                 Totally love it But
Good scanner but better integration of scans between devices would be helpful Paid version lets you save online but if you scan with a different device you have no way to update previous scan        Good scans poor crossdevice scan integration
Great design short size and very accurate Love itud83dude01                 Awesome app
easy to install and use nice interface not cluttered with unnecessary permissions or ads does what it says on the tin practical                 very useful
I can only see my device and the router Anything im doing wrong        Can not see other devices
I use this tool everyday to wake up all of my devices in my home Cant live without uohhhhh                 Best of all
Did not perform as stated Just sat there doing nothing once a brief scan was done Ask for more information a popup stated the program was performing a task in the back ground For the stated action it should have ended in the five minutes I waited for results to be displayed App is either very slow or not functioning as stated Update not performing as advertised Showed very little info uninstalled     Will give five stars when corrections are made of several faults including how fast such takes to perform tasks
Very handy tool for monitoring and getting a net oversight although for some reason some devices it will not detect and WOL does not work which is shame              Great free tool
This app is great for keeping track of what devices are on your network and easily seeing their respective Mac addresses I do wish it had a feature to automatically scan every so often and notify me if a new device connects etc But really all around this is a great app u263a                 Great app
I am not a super tech guy but this app made it so easy to find and mark my network devices wanted and unwanted                 So easy to use
Great little app to quickly check the devices connected to your network and look for unwanted open ports Handy security tool for quick security checks on small home network                 Nice little App
Good for basic testing as is and configurable to add more or customize for your use If I werent used to full blown protocol analyzers that offer it all I might have given it five stars Not perfect but a very nice app that works well              Nice app that works well
Simple to use and really nice being able to see all my devices and routers Very helpful and informative app To the complainersnothing ugly about it or the layout Go to phone settings to enlarge fonts And for god sakes DISCONNECT facebook Twitter messenger instagram and all the other CRAP you have running in the background that you seriously dont need running while sitting at table complaining Do a fresh reboot App has never been slow u2b50u2b50u2b50u2b50u2b50 ud83cudf7b                 I love this app
Just what I wanted in terms of functionality but the UI could use some work Why so much uglier than iOS version Why no options for font size Its TINY on a tablet           Really needs font size options
I run this before I go any further Cant wait to get paid version Thanks dev ud83dudc4d                 Every time I connect to wifi
Excellent design highly accurate and very useful for diagnosis of network connectivity problems on home network Also useful for finding the IP and MAC address of devices and assigning each device a name
Definitely one of the tools you have to have in your toolbox The amount of network admin time that has been reduced just by showing me the hardware vendor name via the mac address is priceles To connect to smb services windows samba fileshare you need to download the client software package which isnt a drama Nicely programmed Fing does just what it says it does on the box and runs smoothly Also its freewithout the unnecessary ads or the need for dubious privileges that plague other programs in this category A top tool for which I give 5 stars and a slab of virtual beer to the developer Time to stop writing and carry on being a geekhappy days                 Excellent
Update and screwing up worse than ever Interrupted a scan taking too long so it locked up the phone again     Fing
the scan device feature is inaccurate it only says that my phone and gateway is the only device connected but there are atleast 3 of them please fix           its ok
Now it doesnt even discover any other devices than the one Im using I have this app on my phone and tablet and they both do not discover LANdevices     Used to work just fine
Its a good utility when out in the field and you have a network problem I travel to our customers offices and dont have the space to carry a laptop with all the tools I already carry This works on any device I have Get IPv6 working              Great utility
Used it for years no complaints so far could rework the interface a bit to mark networks with multiple devices with same SSID                 Good little utility
Easy interface simple and powerful control So much awesome thing is just absolutely free to useim just impressed Good luck to fing develops                 Just Awesome
Works as said Neat and handy Also have wake on lan feature along with traceroute and service discovery Handy app for Network Admins                 Wonderful App
Got this to check who is on my home network have satellite internet with a bandwidth limit after 60GB Works great tells me everything I need to know                 Easy install fast info
Does what router cant My router cannot rename devices I have to have a paper postit of MAC addresses to id which devices are on my network This app lets you rename ping wake up and more Freeee Unbelievable app AND doesnt insist on prying into my contacts and more Can you rate higher than full stars                 Does what router cant
Best App For Keeping Track Of IP Addys No Complaints Works Flawlessly Cant Say Enough Good Things About This App Its Second To NONE And Incredibly Useful Thanks
this is an extremely useful and effective tool to have in your network analysis kit one of the best as a matter of fact i dont hand out 5 star ratings unless an app is really topshelf and this one is                 AWESOME
No other free or paid tool comes close I have had this app for three years across three phones and have had no bad surprises with updates or inconsistent performance This is just a robust yet elegant implemented tool that doesnt do any more or less than it should Absolutely try this first or install as an additional tool                 Powerful elegant straightforward
